Shy Bladder & Toilet problems.
Shy bladder, toilet phobias and problems surrounding going to the loo are far more common than most sufferers realise. All these issues are regularly and successfully treated by Alice at the Maldon Hypnotherapy Clinic, Essex with Hypnoanalysis - a unique and highly effective form of Hypnotherapy.
Coprophobia (scatophobia, coporophobia, shy bowel).
Coprophobia is a fear of going for a poo. Or more specifically the passing of faeces whether that be in a public toilet (scatophobia) or any toilet. It can range from being very sensitive about being heard going to the toilet; to hating hearing others breaking wind or crapping; to fearing losing bowel control in public; to strict cleanliness routines that develop due to a profound sense of feeling unclean or dirty after a shit.
Some sufferers can't bear the sensation of going to the loo so regularly use laxatives or actually auto-disempact to clean themselves out at the time and place they prefer. Coprophobia is strongly linked to many other phobias and problems including obsessional symptoms, social phobia and Shy Bladder.
"Just to let you know how things are working out. Our trip to Prague went OK, that's putting it mildly - it was so fantastic to be out and about without searching for the nearest loo. You have changed my life completely, days out, shopping, whatever. I cope with it all very well, thank you so much for all your help."
E, Suffolk (Toilet anxiety - fear of not being able to get to the loo in time when out) Hypnoanalysis and Changing Limiting Beliefs) August, 2010 NB. E had previously seen a Psychiatrist for 30 years to no avail prior to her 9 hypnoanalysis sesssions with me.
Shy Bladder (paruesis).
Similar to coprophobia, shy bladder is when people find it hard if not impossible to pass urine in a public toilet or even at home if others are in ear shot. It can range from being mildly embarrassing and inconvenient to becoming so extreme that it's hard to work a full day at the office without having to drive home to pee. Often sufferers are mildly dehydrated so as not to have to go to the toilet too often. As you can imagine it can end up really controlling and limiting ones whole social, work and home life. Again it's often coupled with social anxiety - the fear of being judged, put on the spot etc.
Just like other phobia's coprophobia and shy bladder are symbolic representations of the sufferers internal unresolved anxiety. These phobias are symbolic of their emotional cause and not necessarily directly related. As these are predominantly psychological problems hypnoanalysis can and does regularly and successfully free the sufferer from their restricting and often embarrassing problems. Just by resolving the emotional conflicts that lurk deeply buried in ones psyche a truly liberating and permanently life changing "dumping" of emotion occurs, freeing that person's mind to work rationally and naturally without the binds and effects of the bottled up emotion being externalised.
Toilet hygiene obsessions.
Commonly known as OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder (but really should be known as obsessional disorder) commonly focuses on ritual washing and hygiene routines and often around going to the toilet. It is obsessional rather than compulsive as a compulsive person will gain some relief from doing a certain action or having a certain thought even though that relief might be short live. The obsessive however has to repeatedly perform the action or thought which in itself adds to their distress and increases their anxiety levels.
Many of my clients have sought for years to manage their unique problem but to no avail as the source of the problem has been seemingly "out of their reach". Hypnoanalysis offers an effective, refreshing and altogether very different approach by actually getting to the genuine source of the problem rather than just damping down or trying to manage the symptoms.
In the entirely understanding and non-judgemental atmosphere of Alice's highly professional consulting room you will work together with her using Pure Hypnoanalysis to allow those bottled up emotions which reside deep within your unconscious mind to naturally surface and be cathartically released - leaving you feeling lighter, better, free from all those symptoms.
Support, understanding and empathy are all integral when working with Alice and you'll soon see it is not like that of other talking therapies or counseling. Instead of just raking over the past and trying to intellectually come to terms with issues, Hypnosis and Free Association allow clean excision of the unconscious reasons for your phobias and obsessions and then those pent up emotions finally resolve and are truly released. In doing so any directly and often many indirectly related symptoms disappear for good and you can just simply get on with happily living that life you've always wanted and be the person you've always wanted to be. No brainwashing involved, no more management of stresses or symptoms just to get by - quite simply you will have the choices as the same person you were but crucially without all the unconscious baggage holding you back in life and the worry of limiting symptoms.
