Lose and control your weight with Hypnosis through Hypnotherapy at the Maldon Hypnotherapy Clinic.
Obesity is now THE nation's chief health concern. We are officially the fattest nation in Europe with 30 % of kids classed as overweight too.
Hypnotherapy is a tremendously successful tool for weight loss and weight management as it helps break those bad habits concerning food intake. There are various forms of common emotional eating patterns/disorders that all cause their own problems:
- Comfort eating/bingeing when a person over eats to satisfy a sense of loss or general dissatisfaction in their life. Often accompanied by
- Yo-Yo dieting where a significant weight loss is achieved but then quickly the weight is put back on in abundance
- Anorexia Nervosa when the individual has an obsession with controlling weight by calorie restriction leading to severe loss of weight that's not accepted as such by the individual.
- Bulimia when an individual swings from bingeing through to purging by vomiting due to their resultant feelings of guilt.
It's often a surprise for sufferers of the above to find that it's not their eating habits themselves that cause their weight issues but actually underlying emotional problems. Their weight issue is in fact only a symptom of a deep seated problem that's expressed through over consumption or restriction of food intake. Often those with weight problems are also depressed, anxious or have low self esteem. So even the most trendy, scientific or "easy" diet is destined to fail in the long term as the true answer lies at an emotional level.
"I have lost 8lbs in 5 weeks and still losing! It's incredible I see the food I used to eat and I just don't want it. My energy levels have doubled and I feel more focused and calm. Thank you!"
Pat, Huntingdon
After your initial free consultation you have a choice of therapies:
Suggestion therapy - suitable for sports performance and those with low levels of anxiety or stress, and no severe underlying emotional problems.
Analytical therapy - When emotional
stresses are of a more severe nature then it is necessary to find the cause

feelings.

" Hi Alice, Hope you're well! Just thought I'd give you an update
on the progress so far...it's all good! I weighed myself on Friday, exactly
a week since I saw you. I've lost 2.5kg. Amazing. People can't believe
that I'm full when I've only eaten 2/3 of my dinner or whatever and that
I'm not eating any chocolate or snacks in between meals! I'm drinking
loads of water, I've only had two cups of tea since when I saw you and
I would normally drink about 2 a day with accompanying biscuit of course!
It's all fabulous! I'm looking forward to this Friday to see the latest
losses! It's just so easy, I don't have to think about it and I feel great!
My boyf thinks I look better already which is always nice and lots of
people are excited to see how I get on. Hurrah hurrah hurrah! All fabulous,
thank you so much! Shall give you another update soon!"
....and a few weeks later...
"Hi Alice, Hope all is going well with you! All well here, just giving
you a bit of an update on how it's going. It's been just over 5 weeks
now and I've now lost just over 6kg, almost a stone, fabulous eh?! People
at work are starting to notice which is nice and all my clothes are feeling
looser...it's changed my mind set so I still don't want the bad stuff!"

"Hi Alice I saw you two weeks ago at Lavender Barn for suggestion
therapy for healthy eating and weight loss. I am now half a stone lighter,
eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and other healthy foods. Hurrah!
Am feeling great, losing weight at a reasonable pace and have no longer
got a hang up over carbohydrates – I just have the healthy ones in sensible
quantities. I'm not bothered by wanting to have chocolate, or anything
else which is unhealthy, I'm drinking water like there's nothing nicer
and although my husband jokingly says I've been brainwashed, he is actually
quietly impressed – though he'd never admit it! THANKYOU, I feel great.
Am recommending you to lots of people.

More About Weight Loss Hypnotherapy
Alice's unique Weight Loss Hypnotherapy sessions are completely tailored to your personal goals and desires - here are some examples of what you can do for your long term health and happiness via your personalised Hypnotherapy session(s):
* Be genuinely more motivated to exercise whether it be the gym, jogging or just walking a little further and faster with more of a spring in your step
* Get a kick out of leaving food on your plate and an even bigger one when you pop it into the bin (or the recycle, or the dog!)
* Eat slowly and consciously and savour every low fat, highly nutritious, healthy mouthful and be super happy to finish eating the moment your body has taken in just what it needs to remain healthy and slim
* Only desire good, healthy, lean but nutritious foods in the right amounts that will help you to lose weight
* Avoid (willingly!) high fat, un-filling unhealthy foods that typically prevent people from losing the weight they want to lose (cheese, sweets, chocolate, crisps, fatty, fried foods etc)
* Really enjoy drinking lots more water in preference to any other liquid
* Achieve your target weight. Go for it here now! How much do you really want to get down to?
* Feel absolutely great about yourself! Proud and happy to be that healthy, slim person you've always wanted to be!
etc etc etc...you think about what you want and bring it along to your first FREE informal meeting with Alice - where we put together your very own session.
IMPORTANT NOTE - These Weight Loss Hypnotherapy sessions are suitable for
most as long as there aren't other deeper rooted anxiety based problems
(e.g. depression, deep rooted fears, phobias, anxiety etc - see the Pure
Hypnoanalysis section on this web site for your solution to these other
problems). Alice will assess in your first meeting whether suggestion therapy
is suitable for you or whether you would be better suited to another approach.
This will also be fully discussed in your initial FREE consultation.
So if you're really wanting to change for good and will thoroughly
enjoy developing a healthy, happy, energetic lifestyle from the moment your
session finishes and you walk outside of Alice's clinic then just give her
a call for your free initial consult Tel: 07906 059022 Email: alice@alicepinion.com
"The session certainly worked – within a week [I] had lost ½ a stone!

A phobia is an external symbolic representation of an inward anxiety. Or in English an internal and overwhelming emotion triggered by something (almost anything!) from outside of oneself.
Alice can help you overcome for phobia, fear or troublesome irrantional anxiety just as she has done with everyone from mums, to business people, to sports people, to pop stars, to celebrities entering ITV1's "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!".
Phobias are formed early in one's development when a traumatic or highly stressful situation occurs that the psyche at that point is not able to deal with. Instead it reacts by repressing or bottling up the emotions and creates a Phobia which is an intense, uncontrollable yet intangible (pathological) fear (as opposed to just a dislike) to warn you never to get into that situation or similar one again.
Often the reaction is in the form of a panic attack or sudden onset of intense anxiety often lasting several minutes. Symptoms are many and varied.
- Sudden intense anxiety or fear
- Heart pounding or palpitations
- Cold sweat or trembling
- Shortness of breath
- Nausea, faintness or dizziness
- Fear of losing control
- Mind going 'blank'
- Sense of impending doom or disaster
- Chest tightness
- Ringing ears
The purpose of therapy is to find the original cause (or internal conflict) of the Phobia and to release it. The Phobia disappears upon release of these emotions. In addition to your Phobia being resolved at the conclusion of therapy you can also expect freedom from most if not all of your other anxiety symptoms and negative feelings.
Most phobias are symbolically rather than directly linked to the cause of the bottled up emotions. For example there are just as many sufferers of Ophidiophobia or Snake Phobia in Ireland (where there are NO native snakes) as is in Australia where there are 100+ native snakes. If you ask each of these Snake Phobics if they've ever been harmed by or even handled a snake the answer will 99.9% of the time be a resounding "NO!".
So where has this pathological fear come from? The answer is from inside. Each phobic (no matter what the phobia) actually has a strong fear of being out of control and this has been symbolically projected onto snakes and often anything associated with snakes.
In fact, once the Ophidophobic's therapy is successfully completed and all the internal conflicting emotions are released then that individual will quite happily be able to swap that title for one of Snake Charmer if they so desired - as removing the "unconscious" cause of the problem offers a permanent release from the phobia, removing the symptoms totally and for good.

Common Indirect Phobia's - not directly linked to the emotional conflict
Arachnophobia (fear of spiders), Aviatopophobia (fear of flying), Hydrophobia (fear of water), Acrophobia (heights), Claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces), Agorophobia (fear of open spaces), Demophobia (fear of crowds), Nyctophobia (fear of darkness), Odontophobia (fear of dentists), Glossophobia (fear of speaking in public), Aichmophobia (fear of needles), Thanatophobia (fear of death or dying) - See full alphabetical list of Phobias.
Common Direct Phobia's.

Emetophobia or emetephobia is the fear of being sick - aka phagophobia, vomitophobia, vomit phobia, sickness phobia. Associated fears; gagging, seeing others being sick, choking on food, pregnancy (due to morning sickness), drowning, social Phobia.
Emetophobia often affects more women than men and is very disabling as the sufferer has to avoid all places where there is a possibility of themselves (or others) being sick e.g. pubs, restaurants, eating in front of others etc. Often there's accompanying obsessions about what as well as where they eat. As sufferers tend to view being sick as horrible and dirty it's common for emetophobics to also have fears of other situations where they might feel the same way e.g. going to the toilet (coprophobia), shy bladder (paruresis) etc.

Coprophobia or corporophobia is the fear of going to the toilet (passing faeces) .
Fear of anything related to passing faeces, shit/shitting, toilets, public toilets, being heard going, feeling unclean or dirty generally. Often the fear is specifically of losing bowel control in public and there maybe very precise routines they have to adhere to in order to be able to go to the toilet., maybe including use of laxatives or even auto-disempacting.
"Thank you SO much for the session on Monday, I still feel quiet weird around food, it's strange that I have not had anything really bad for me lately, it's really weird, almost like it's not me! Which is good. I think that I would normally turn to food in times of stress, then I would feel guilty about what I'd eaten and then eat more and then feel depressed about it so eat even more (if all that makes sense!). Now I feel like I would be letting myself down if I ate that stuff ... it's all a bit bizarre how I'm feeling really. Today I stopped off for some lunch and I just had an egg sandwich & a diet coke, SO unlike me. I know it's very early days, but I feel great!"
Jo, Haverhill

Social Phobia (scopophobia) is the fear of embarrassing, humiliating , or 'on the spot' type situations in public. Associated fears; social anxiety, social anxiety disorder, fear of being judged.
Social Phobia is probably the most common phobia. A fear of any situation where the sufferer is likely to feel 'on the spot', embarrassed, humiliated, silly or judged. E.g. dinner parties, public speaking, interviews, presenting, singing, talking on the telephone etc. Associated symptoms: sensitivity to criticism, negative self image, fear of rejection, difficulty in being assertive and feelings of inferiority. Often symptoms appear alongside the social phobia such as; blushing, stuttering, working too hard to please others, lack of confidence, low self esteem, and preoccupation with looks, twitches or tics, sexual performance anxiety, shy bladder, self imposed unachievable high standards, fear of failure, depression etc.
A social phobic worries continuously about how others see them and think about them, thus they devote a lot of time creating the image they want others to see and they're quite adept at concealing their anxiety from others.
"This has been the best money spent. I now feel comfortable in my own skin and able to be in control of my own self. A journey that needed to be travelled. Thank you Alice for enabling this to happen. I am so pleased with the results."
M. Sudbury, Suffolk (Weight loss, self esteem etc. Hypnoanalysis) June 2010
"I saw Alice for 12 sessions and through her sensitive and encouraging guidance was able to deal with issues that were still unsolved despite numerous attempts to sort myself out. Alice is extremely skillful with just the right balance of seriousness and humour. You feel that you are able to trust her with your most secret, secrets. She enables you to help yourself and feel differently about yourself and your problems. I feel a different person and am much better able to cope with life in general and in particular with my deafness. This is never going to get better the only thing that has changed is my attitude towards it. Thank you Alice!"
Gloria, Essex (Social Anxiety - Hypnoanalysis) February 2010

Shy Bladder is the inability to urinate in front of others ; paruresis, stage fright, toilet anxiety, toilet phobia.
Shy Bladder usually only affects men. They have a great difficulty urinating in front of other people or in an unfamiliar place. Severity of the symptoms can vary from person to person and also depends on the persons stress level. i.e. some men find it a little difficult to pee in a crowded toilet, some can only piss in their own toilet so may even have to come home from work, just to pee.
